Position Overview

Conducts complex financial and operational analyses of TruGreen activities to support Procurement strategic sourcing efforts. Supports the Category Managers and Directors for all program related needs, issues and initiatives in the categories assigned. Assists in framework development to improve supplier and performance management.

  • Supports assigned categories by interfacing with stakeholders to understand and support assigned spend category requirements by developing unprecedented solutions to a wide range of difficult problems; supports category managers to negotiate new agreements and manage existing relationships with suppliers
  • Develops and executes short and long-term category management strategies based on business needs and market intelligence
  • Leads key projects and processes as identified by manager (including but not limited to negotiating, sourcing, contracting, cost modeling, project management)
  • Defines opportunities to improve cost and add value by creating complex models and conducting analysis of financial and operating information including: spend, total cost of ownership, and category and industry trends
  • Performs analysis, reporting and forecasting on market and commodity conditions including supplier profiles and cost structures
  • Utilizes systems to improve visibility and management of information; effectively manages contracts and supplier performance
  • Conducts research and stays current on category market, business, and technology trends improving category management and delivery value
  • Supports enforcement of procurement policies and processes, including the use of Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes to identify potential suppliers
  • Assists in framework development to improve supplier and performance management
  • May oversee the completion of projects or assignments of less experienced analysts

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required and 3+ years of experience in category management/strategic sourcing and pricing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of supplier relationship development and Industry experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with ability to collect and correlate information and data
  • Ability to build customer relationships and provide customer service
  • Knowledge of company products and services
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated with ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Mathematical skill to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume
  • Time management skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks
