Georgia-Pacific is seeking a self-motivated, entrepreneurial individual with high integrity and strong planning skills to work as an Electrical / Process Control Project Manager, with a focus on Power Systems and process controls, in our containerboard manufacturing engineering team at our Toledo, OR facility. We're looking for a candidate that fosters teamwork and can find value-added solutions to electrical and control-based problems. A high level of initiative and critical thinking skills will be essential as you manage technical projects and find and communicate solutions to customers, peers, and management.

 


 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


 

The Electrical Process Control Project Manager anticipates the needs and serves his/her customers that operate, maintain and improve the manufacturing processes within the Toledo, OR facility. He/she owns and applies the company's business process for projects and engineering practices to drive long-term value into projects. Furthermore, the project manager collaborates across other Koch companies to profitably share and leverage best knowledge. On occasion, he/she provides unscheduled support to address an electrical and process control issues.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Effectively communicating with internal customers and leadership, external suppliers and vendors

  • Working with project managers, design contractors and vendors to develop scopes of work and lead capital projects

  • Serving as project manager managing contractors and other team resources to complete multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

  • Applying industry standards and codes to properly design, implement, commission and maintain electrical power distribution and process control systems (Low/Medium Voltage and DCS/PLC process control knowledge preferred)

  • Utilizing and updating, as necessary, all engineering standards and construction guidelines for projects to ensure compatibility with corporate and local requirements

  • Participating on our Electrical Safe Work team to guide the organization

  • Managing the Arc Flash Program, including conducting studies, performing and verifying models, reviewing and generating labels, and supporting training

  • Providing troubleshooting support to power and process control related problems, including restoration and root cause analysis on equipment failure

  • Working occasional weekends and holidays as needed 

 


 

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications: 

 


  • Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university OR Seven (7) years of engineering and/or maintenance experience in an industrial setting 

  • Experience referring to the National Electric Code (NFPA 70)

  • Must be able to sustain engineering documents associated with electrical and control systems (e.g., one lines, panel schedules, schematics, wiring diagrams, instrument indices)

  • Must be able to specify electrical and control equipment and evaluate vendor proposals for the full spectrum of related projects

  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)


  • Must be able to wear and use personnel protective equipment

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to access elevated platforms by ladder (includes egress)

  • Must be able to operate company vehicles

  • Must be able to periodically work in excess of 8 hours in a day

  • Must be able periodically work outside and/or in industrial environment in extreme temperatures at various times throughout the year

  


What Will Put You Ahead?

 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Three (3) or more years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial setting and/or as a project manager

  • Experience supporting industrial control systems - including Distributed Control Systems (DCS)/Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)/Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, instrumentation, automation systems, and process control solutions

  • Experience developing reliability strategies and developing energy efficiency studies

  • Experience with devices that provide Industrial Internet of Things (IIIoT) capabilities and a strong desire to transform our work practices

  • Ability to assess electrical system performance and load studies to develop and implement recommendations for improvements consistent with NFPA 70E and Electrical Safe Work Programs 

  • Ability to oversee and review the engineering work of others (e.g., peers, engineering firm, customers, vendors)

  • Professional Engineer certification with ability to obtain in Oregon

  • Project Management Professional certification
