Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is owned and managed by the Dogwood Canyon Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the canyon’s natural plant and wildlife environment. The Foundation promotes environmental conservation by maintaining the park and providing the public with an unspoiled setting for exploration and the enjoyment of various outdoor activities. There is 10,000 acres of pristine Ozark Mountain landscape and miles of crystal-clear trout streams, cascading waterfalls, ancient burial caves, unique hand-built bridges.
Dogwood Canyon is currently seeking a FISHING INSTRUCTOR to join the team! This individual will oversee Fly Fishing Schools, Family Fishing Day, and Clinics within Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. Main instructor for Fly Fishing Academy and assist guided fishing trips and fishing instruction, while providing guests’ information and history about Dogwood Canyon.
Adhere to all rules and regulations established in Dogwood Canyon standard operation procedure manual.
Be knowledgeable about Dogwood Canyon and its history.
Provide aide to activities and tour departments.
Resolve incidents of guest dissatisfaction and report the outcome to the manager.
Responsible for associate and guest safety during Orvis Schools, fishing trips, and instruction.
Assist guests with the highest level of professionalism.
Must be able to operate and be knowledgeable of all fishing equipment.
Work alongside activities department for all trout/fish programs, fly tying demonstrations, etc.
Always carries themselves in a friendly approachable manner
Must be highly service focused with a desire to engage with guests, with exceptional customer service.
Demonstrate initiative – ability to think, work, and make decisions to solve guest concerns based on sound judgment.

Needs for Cabin Class facility
Monitor, track, and keep precise inventory and cleanliness of all fishing equipment.
Remain within departmental and schools budgetary requirements.
Must excel in a fast paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.
Stay current on park and industry safety needs and certifications.
Continually be looking for ways to enhance guest fishing experiences while ensuring safety.
Past fly fishing experience and instruction is required.
A passion for teaching fishing is required.
Keep supervisor informed of ordering, equipment, and supply needs.
Must have a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the park and its guests.
