Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Automation Leader for our tissue, towel and napkin mill in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The individual in this role will have responsibility for working with business partners and vendors to develop solutions related to automating manufacturing and material handling processes. Solutions design will include understanding of processes, scoping and application of currently available automated guided vehicles (AGVs), self-guided vehicles (SGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and future technologies. This individual will lead cross-functional teams and should have a good understanding of lean manufacturing principals and logistics flow to uncover areas of waste and inefficiencies to optimize automation solutions. This role will also have responsibility for providing leadership and management of automation projects.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Analyze manufacturing process flows for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput through automation
Responsible for mill transition to competitive levels of automation across the facility. Initial focus will be movement of raw materials and finished product in the retail department of the mill. Provide oversight around processes to sustain reliable operations of the technology.
Conducts research to stay current on advancements in material handling automation and adjacent areas
Develops problem statements and evaluates automation alternatives to meet current and future business needs
Coordinates with cross functional teams to optimize flow and eliminate waste to better match automation
Defines the requirements and specifications needed to advance the material handling automation capability
Performs cost analysis and capital expenditure requests to justify automation projects
Manages relationships and priorities with solutions providers and vendors
What You Will Need:
An Associate's Degree or higher in a technical field
Five (5) or more years of experience in or supporting a manufacturing/logistics environment
Two (2) or more years of LGV and robotic type automation systems experience to include things such as troubleshooting, modifications, and additions
One (1) or more years of experience in project management
What Will Put You Ahead?
A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, or Advanced Technologies including Automation and Robotics
Five (5) or more years of automation experience in a manufacturing or industrial logistics environment
Five (5) or more years of experience in project management
Two (2) or more years of professional hands-on experience in programming, software, and hardware system management with industrial process control platforms and networks
Experience with process automation technology, including automated guided vehicles (AGVs) / self-guided vehicles (SGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), Electtric80 and BEMA, Rockwell Automation, and FANUC Robotics Systems
Hands-on experience with electrical controls systems and/or automation robotics
