The Assistant Recruiting Specialist is under the overall supervision of the Talent Acquisition Supervisor and is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties associated with the day-to-day administration of the Talent Acquisition section. In addition, the incumbent serves as the coordinator for the recruitment of designated positions in the areas of administration, student interns, co-operative education, student assistants, and worker trainees.
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as well as excellent oral communication, written communication and organizational skills. The position also requires attention to detail and deadlines. Must have the ability to shift priorities, multi-task and follow up quickly with applicants and staff. Computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite and Excel are required. PowerPoint experience is helpful. General knowledge of the principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, compensation, and related personnel information systems (i.e. PeopleSoft, Taleo) desired.
Must have demonstrated excellent customer relations skills and ability to interact with applicants and staff at all levels with clarity and tact. Highly organized, good at scheduling, and have a professional demeanor. Knowledge of internet recruitment advertising is desirable. Must be willing to travel to recruiting-related events. This position will require some lifting and packing of career fair materials. A writing sample will be required at the time of the interview.
