The RN Patient Placement Coordinator will serve as first contact for external physician providers seeking access to Mercy Springfield. The goal of the Coordinator will be to provide quality care and exceptional customer service by facilitating a seamless process for the direct admission of patients. The Coordinator will complete an initial intake assessment of the patient's needs, triage the patient to the appropriate physician provider or specialist, facilitate a conference call connection and coordinate a safe and timely admission as appropriate. The Coordinator will be responsible for the accurate and timely documentation and management of the Admission database. The Coordinator must use exceptional communication and critical thinking skills to determine the priority of transfer, appropriate receiving physician, and patient placement. The RN Patient Placement Coordinator will be responsible for the overall movement of patients through the hospital in a safe and efficient manner. The Coordinator will appropriately delegate the workload and is a role model for teamwork, leadership, and professionalism. The Coordinator will act as liaison between internal and external physicians, nursing, ETC, and other patient intake areas to expedite appropriate and timely placement of patients. The RN Patient Placement Coordinator will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.

* Graduate of an approved school of nursing
* Current RN license with the MO State Board of Nursing
* 3-5 years hospital experience
