Position Summary
Fisher College, a private non-profit comprehensive college located in Boston's Back Bay, invites applications for a full-time Director of Housing and Residential Life.  This position may be live-in, with a meal plan included.

The Opportunity: 
The Director of Housing and Residential Life coordinates and oversees the daily operation and activities of that department. The typical job responsibilities include the following:


  • Ensure an environment that is conducive to our student’s education and retention at the College.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise the department’s staff, which includes Resident Directors, Resident Assistants, housing staff, and student employees.

  • Serve as the College’s Student Conduct Coordinator..

  • Oversee all housing administrative processes relating to room sign-up, assignments, move-in, move-out, damage follow-up, maintenance requests, keys, health and safety, and all aspects of housing students on campus.

  • Manage all aspects of College space rentals for events, including summer rentals and staffing.

  • Work with the Resident Directors to provide training and activities designed to enhance the experience of our resident students.


  • 3 to 5 years minimum experience in a college/university housing/residential life environment

  •  Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred

  •  Strong computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills

  •  good organizational skills

  • strong leadership skills

  • ability to work both independently and as a team

  • excellent judgment

  • ability to work with a diverse population
