Job Description:

KTNV - the Scripps-owned station in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an Intern for The Morning Blend!

Key activities



  • Log daily guests in our database and email reception the day's guest list


  • Make sure the green room is prepped with water and coffee


  • Gathering and distributing printed scripts


  • Getting the hosts their mics and IFBs (and water on occasion)


  • Bringing guests to the studio and making sure they are prepared and in position at the appropriate time


  • Taking photos of each live segment


  • Making sure guests get out of the building when they are supposed to


  • Cleaning up the green room after each show


  • Clipping the show's segments into individual videos for the web


  • Archiving each show and post-show recordings on our hard drive


  • Web writing


  • Basic video editing


  • Short notice appearances on the show


  • Assisting on live shoots

Skills & Abilities



  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Strong organizational and delivery skills


  • Must have strong writing and production skills


  • Must be able to work well under pressure and with others to develop and execute compelling shows


  • Must be self-motivated and dependable

 

Education & Experience/Certifications



  • Must be a current college student - preferably in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related discipline


  • Must be able to work 20 hours per week


  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of insurability
