Agropur is looking for a Quality Control Work Study! This position is responsible in assisting the Quality Control Technicians to ensure all products, incoming and outgoing, meet quality standards by performing a variety of microbiological and chemical testing in a lab environment. The QC Work Study is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards and adhering to lab safety standards.

Schedule:

7am - 3pm, Monday - Friday during the summer.

Part-time during normal business hours, Monday - Friday once University is back in session.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Quality Control Technicians to receive, sort, composite and prepare samples for laboratory testing.
  • Assist the Quality Control Technicians to perform various test procedures, which include but are not limited to analysis of components and physical properties of products; interpretation of test results; development of non-standard tests; preparation of test solutions, compounds and reagents for use in conducting tests.
  • Assist the Quality Control Technicians to calculate and review specifications on testing data; enter data into computer systems.
  • Ensure lab area and equipment is clean and sanitized according to standards.
  • Assist the Quality Control Technicians to maintain and document monthly quality control checks.
  • Update knowledge and develop professionally on a continuing basis.


Skill and Abilities
  • Must be 18 years of age, or older.
  • Basic math plus fractions, decimals, percentages, and algebraic calculations.
  • Language skills - exchange basic informational data (fill out forms/checklists, make own appointments, etc.), read and understand technical data.
  • Technical ability to retrieve computerized information.
  • Work performed accurately, reliably, thoroughly and timely within safety guidelines.
  • Comply with Quality policies, laws and regulations.


Qualifications and Experience
  • Completion of two years towards a bachelor's degree in science field, required.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, required.
  • Working knowledge of how lab equipment operates, required.
