We are seeking a Temporary Gift Shop Assistant to:
Minimum - High Diploma or equivalent
Preferred - Technical degree or post high school education.
Minimum - One year of retail experience.
Preferred - Experience in ordering, receiving, pricing and inventory of products.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Excellent customer service abilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, department administrative staff, interdepartmental contacts, and the general public.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to be self-directed in accomplishing the responsibilities of this position. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to be organized and flexible in response to changing demands. Ability to handle a high volume of work under pressure.
Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
35% FTE, 14 hours per week. 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and 12:00 pm ? 7:30 pm on Fridays. The position requires 1-2 weekend shifts per month. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
