The Master Scheduler is responsible for scheduling elective\r\nprocedure for patients that have been seen within in the clinic at the time\r\nthey are being checked out. Preparing\r\nnecessary documentation for the elective procedures.Communicates with staff in the GI center and the Cath lab to\r\nensure proper scheduling and preparation for the procedure. Works with Insurance verifier to obtain\r\nauthorization for all procedures that are scheduled. Greets and assists patients when they check\r\nin & out of the clinic in a professional manner. Obtains or reviews their demographics &\r\nfiscal information. Collects Co-Pays,\r\nenters payments and closes batch at the end of the day when necessary. Answers patient's telephone calls, correctly\r\nprocessing information or answering questions or solving problems. Schedules all appointments including\r\nancillary testing when necessary. Communications\r\neffectively and in a professional manner with patients regarding wait times. Maintains general reception area, ensuring\r\ncleanliness and organization. Adheres to\r\nJoint Commission and Department of Public Health regulations as well hospital\r\nand Departmental policies, such as: Attendance, Co-Pay and Dress Code. Performs other duties and tasks as requested\r\nby supervisors to ensure the efficient overall performance of the facility,\r\nmaintaining flexibility regarding the occasional need for the staff coverage in\r\nother areas of the facility.\n\nMust have two or more years of experience working in a fast paced medical office environment. Some college education preferred. Able to perform detailed assignments and work under stressful conditions. Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language and medical terminology. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients and families, peers, supervisors and other members of the health care team. Must be knowledgeable of computer use and be able to input information quickly, accurately, and in a timely fashion.
