Position Summary

Plan and perform preventive, corrective, and repair maintenance on all production equipment, and facilities maintenance.  Assist Operators with minor maintenance issues to consistently obtain the standard operating efficiency of system and minimize down time and reduce spoilage.  Communicates equipment problems that are beyond abilities to the support group.  Basic troubleshooting skills.  Ability to demonstrate the operation of and test the equipment, analyzing malfunctions to correct the problem.  Ability to review, interpret, and understand performance data that will enable them to identify and implement performance improvement activities. Ability to rebuild equipment and assist upper level technicians in repairs and other equipment or plant upgrades.


Key Duties / Responsibilities

Assist operators with minor maintenance issues as needed and replace broken or damaged items in a timely manner.  Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures. (50%)

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and audits. (15%)

Assist with facilities maintenance and other duties as assigned. (10%)

Ability to review, interpret, and understand performance data that will enable them to identify and implement performance improvement activities. (10%)

Perform maintenance best practices. (10%)

Lead and/or assist with local Engineering upgrades and projects. (5%)


Experience / Skills / Abilities Required

Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing role or other corresponding experience.  2 or more years maintenance experience a plus. 

Strong mechanical reasoning skills and conscientiousness. 

Strong communication and problem solving skills. 

Ability to work in a fast paced environment under time constraints.


Communication and Contacts Required

Must be able to converse with machine operators to troubleshoot equipment break down.  Continuous communication with Managers to update status and align equipment repair priorities.


Education and Knowledge Required

High school education / GED equivalent.  Mechanical and/or Electronic courses.


Physical Requirement / Working Conditions

Manufacturing work environment.  Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.

Ability to regularly bend, kneel, and stoop.  Strength and manual dexterity needed to move objects.
