Georgia-Pacific Brunswick Cellulose is seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer.  The Electrical  Reliability Engineer reports to the Reliability Leader and is responsible for supporting the Mill’s Visions and creating long term value measured by improved equipment reliability through the use of Operations Excellence and do it from an MBM® perspective (5 Dimensions and Guiding Principles).  Specifically, the position focuses on improving equipment reliability (capable, stable and predictable) thereby reducing unplanned events while improving uptime, availability and costs.  Reliability improvements are expected as a result of utilizing reliability best practices and developing complete asset strategies to manage and/or mitigate the risk and consequences of premature failures.  For more information about GP Cellulose, please visit

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Supporting the mills visions

  • Embracing and applying the Market Based Management Framework and Guiding Principles

  • Supporting the mill in achieving 10,000% compliance in environmental, health and safety

  • Supporting the mill in achieving its targets for EHS, quality, costs, reliability and production

  • Supporting the mill through the application of the Reliability Mental Model Elements, with primary responsibility for Electrical & Instrumentation

  • Leveraging current and future technologies with digital transformation activities to advance workforce capability and identify opportunities to improve equipment availability and eliminate unplanned events

  • Facilitating development and on-going completion of asset strategies

  • Supporting the design for reliability process on new assets

  • Working independently (self-directed), as part of a team and leading teams

  • Managing multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Utilizing good analytical, innovative, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Utilizing strong PC skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

  • Utilizing good written and verbal communication skills


What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Training in the field of Electrical Reliability Engineering

  • One (1) year of maintenance or engineering experience in an industrial facility

  • Knowledge of Reliability Best Practices, RCAs, Preventive Maintenance, and Predictive Maintenance

  • Experience developing asset strategies


What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in the field of Electrical Reliability Engineering

  • Two (2) years of electrical maintenance or engineering experience in the Pulp & Paper Industry

  • Experience with SMART instruments and control loop improvement process
