Lawn & Garden, a CRH company, a division within Oldcastle APG, is one of the largest manufacturers of bagged and bulk decorative mulch, soil, stone, and limestone products in the nation with over 40 production facilities. We take pride in serving a diverse group of customers including independent garden centers, mass retailers, landscapers, contractors, and homeowners.
Involved daily in the production and quality needs of the Quakertown facility.
Actively participates as a hands-on production manager with an ability to have flexible working hours based on product demands from the customer.
Responsible for daily production scheduling, planning and reporting.
Be heavily involved with Raw Material Management at the plant level including inventory of chemical, peat and bark.
Continuously update raw material standards by understanding the manufacturing requirements.
Works with internal and external suppliers to develop testing methods and procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
Oversee the overall quality direction of the plant and the effectiveness of the quality management system in place, as well as, regional interaction with other Northeast facilities from a quality and production perspective.
Understand and develop quality product standards, manufacturing capability and customer requirements.
Works closely with members of management, sales and operators to develop those requirements
Maintain and develop inspection standards to ensure finished products meet established quality criteria.
Continuously update product quality documentation system and quality assurance procedures.
Ensure established product quality standards are understood and systems are established to verify compliance and associates capability to delivery upon those requirements
Proactively identify areas where product quality and supporting systems requires corrective action.
When necessary, implement corrective action plans and monitor the effectiveness of the solutions
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and / or 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing and quality organization
3+ years supervisory experience preferred
Travel within the Northeast Region will be expected occasionally to ensure quality standards and processes are being followed at other plants within the region.
