KMHS is Kitsap’s nonprofit, designated community mental health provider for adults with acute and/or chronic serious mental illnesses, and children with serious emotional disturbances and their families. Provide 24/7 therapeutic psychosocial care for adults admitted to the CRISIS TRIAGE FACILITY (CTF). Facilitate the CTF’s clinical direction by working closely with staff, referral parties, and other internal KMHS departments. This position would include covering multiple shifts in a 24-hour program.
To improve the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission. To provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Program Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree in a behavioral science and meets criteria as a Mental Health Professional in the state of Washington. The following topics/skills are considered highly desirable for this position: working knowledge of the Involuntary Treatment Act, Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change Theory, Co-Occurring Disorders, Dialectical Behavioral Theory (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Theory, inpatient or crisis adult psychiatric work with chronically mentally ill clients and computer skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk or listen and lift up to 50 pounds. Peripheral vision is also required for this position. A fair degree of flexibility and strength is required in this position due to the infrequent, yet essential, use of one’s body in the temporary physical restraint of some clients.
