  • Directs plant quality assurance effort with emphasis on identification and solution of process, material or labor problems that could compromise plant and division quality commitments.

  • Trains staff personnel and applies analytical and statistical analyses to achieve required quality results.

  • Provide customer and supplier contacts relating to quality performance of a technical nature.

  • Responsible for plant quality control systems to insure controls are functioning in the areas of process, purchased material and final product quality to maintain internal and external quality costs while ensuring customer expectations are met.  

  • Consults with plant management in preparation of the annual quality budget. Makes commitments to quality plans for the plant.  

  • Supervises preparation of all quality reports and analyzes reports to identify problems.

  • Assists plant managements to achieve desired results.  

  • Performs special studies and analyses at the request of plant or division management.  

  • Contacts customers or suppliers regarding resolution of quality or product liability problems of a technical nature (includes customers and supplier visits).  

  • Directs or assists in the selection, hiring, and training of engineers and technicians.  Responsible for disposition of defective materials.  

  • Directs QOS system management.  

  • Reports on Quality at all Plant Management reviews.  

  • Drives Cost of Quality improvements and Project management in areas involving Quality.  

  • Administer and sign-off on existing/new process changes/implementation.  

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical field.  

  • Business Operating System (BOS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related BOS requirements.  

  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.  

  • Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.  

  • Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.  

  • Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.  

  • Statistics background preferred.

  • Minimum Five years of quality control experience, and two years of supervising others.

  • Experience in IATF 16949  standards and facilitating continuous improvement using formal quality methodology and tools.
