Location: Avon, Connecticut
Oversees strategy, delivery and vision of the medical economics, customer reporting and analytics functions. Works across all lines of business to deliver and influence the decision making on fact-based data. Provides strategic leadership and talent management throughout the organization. Oversight of both behavioral health and specialty analytics.
Leads the strategy and delivery of all analytics and reporting supporting the business, and partners with leadership to drive profitable growth in these segments.
Serves as a key member of the Specialty/Behavioral leadership team. Develops and maintains effective relationships with colleagues as part of the segment leadership team, with shared goals for Health Plan.
Works with Finance leadership to identify key drivers of medical trend and loss ratio, forecasting into the future. Works with clinical and operational leaders to identify and drive activity in support of lowering medical cost, while optimizing quality. Works with business and sales leaders to showcase our value proposition to prospective and current customers. Works with product leaders to refresh our value proposition, monetize our expertise and services. Works with broader corporate resources such as Actuarial, Underwriting and IT to support business objectives.
Directs analytical support, and engages in detail as needed and ensures optimal prioritization of analytical resources.
Develops understanding of book of business medical cost trend drivers and value initiatives to mitigate costs and develop and maintain metrics to measure progress.
Understands drivers of customers' medical costs and demonstrates and communicates our value proposition.
Develops products that deliver clinical and return on investment (ROI) value to Magellan.
Identifies and drives changes to promote and improve efficiency, accuracy and turn around time (TAT).
Engages in management processes to prioritize initiatives and resources to align with leadership and optimize business results.
Develops and directs all relevant reporting for internal and external audiences (by Medical Economics team and/or Analytics team), to support strategic decision making.
Ensures analytics and reporting are timely and accurate.
Directs the development of tactical and strategic plans to satisfy technical business needs.
Leads standardization of data processes to ensure efficient practices that are best in class.
Builds and develops the right team of analytical and customer facing talent, provides coaching and leads change management. Ensures all resources are working up to their maximum potential to meet regulatory, customer and internal requirements, meeting all deadlines and following all of the proper policies and procedures.
