Job Description:

American Honda Motor Company is looking for a motivated Certification Planning Engineer with Emissions / Fuel Economy / Certification experience. The candidate would join Honda’s growing team at our recently expanded world-class Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor, MI. Responsibilities would include planning new model certification for US Emissions and Fuel Economy testing. Ideal qualifications would additionally include knowledge of / experience with US Emissions Regulations, the ability to work well with broad range of people, strong time and responsibility management, and demonstration of strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Certification flow coordination, documentation preparation and presentation at milestone events

• Emissions and fuel economy testing coordination and result evaluations

• Create standard operating procedures

• Interface with regulatory agencies

• Participate and report on industry and government agency meetings

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 6-8 years of work experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive field and project management

• Ability to create short and long range detailed test plans ensuring deadlines are met

• Coordinate and lead team meetings with vehicle development engineers and program leaders

• Detailed understanding of EPA regulatory framework to select proper vehicle test sequences and requirements

• Proficient with CAD drawing review

• Knowledgeable of EPA and CARB emissions and fuel economy test procedures and related regulations

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
