Job Description:

John Zink is looking for a Controls Engineer! 


Working with other disciplines to create Piping and Instrument Diagrams, modify existing industrial control panels, specify valves and instrumentation, applying specifications, electrical design for field equipment, programming controllers, PLCs, and HMIs, electrical checkout and troubleshooting, field support and commissioning.  The retrofit projects will primarily be for carbon adsorption/absorption Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs), Vapor Combustion Units (VCUs), and BioGas Flare equipment (digester and landfill combustion equipment).  Typical project scope may include vacuum pumps and rotary-lobe blowers, vapor blowers, burners and process/fuel piping, along with associated instrumentation and controls. 




A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 Assume overall ownership of assigned projects for control related jobs

 Performing PLC programming and set up of other components such as HMI, VFD, controllers, recorders, etc

 Design new, or modify existing, controls systems

 Test and troubleshoot control systems

 Assist sales engineers with proposals, cost estimates, and documentation

 Work with field technicians


What You Will Need:

  •     BT Electrical Engineering Technology, BS Electrical Engineering, BS in Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience


What Will Put You Ahead?

  •     Bachelors of Science in Engineering

  •     Industrial or combustion experience

  •     Experience with PLC programming

  •     Ability to test and troubleshoot controls systems

  •     Knowledge of vapor combustion/recovery in liquid hydrocarbon loading   applications

  •     Experience with leading and training a team of controls engineers

  •     Minimum of two (2)+ years experience in the field
