Responsibilities

Primary responsibility includes instructional design and technology support for MUSM faculty in course design and delivery. Responsibilities include: assisting MUSM faculty with supporting the use of the Canvas learning management system and other instructional applications such as Examsoft, Learning Spaces, Echo360 and others, and providing training and implementation assistance; serving as the LMS administrator for the School of Medicine within the wider university infrastructure; and developing faculty expertise on emerging and creative use of technology, course design, and teaching and assessment techniques. Additional support will include: support for new course construction for all MUSM courses in Canvas; maintaining course content, including text and media files, archiving/backups of LMS content, administrative oversight of other instructional and records management applications; ensuring accuracy of course information; and supporting student access to courses and other resources.

Required Qualifications A bachelors degree from an accredited college/university and a minimum of one year of prior experience in instructional design and/or development or instructional technology support are required. A masters degree from a regionally accredited institution in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have knowledge of modern computing, networking, and communication systems; advanced skills in the use of technology applications; and the ability to organize and work effectively with the understanding organizational policies and activities. Additional qualifications include proficient communication, both oral and written; ability to work effectively in one-on-one and group situations; ability to coordinate and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks; and ability to complete assignments in an efficient, timely, and (at times) expedited manner.
