As Travel Manager on our Site C Powerhouse project, you will have the opportunity to work on an exciting, high profile project and lead a vital function that will play a critical part in the success of the project. This position will be site based on a 2 weeks on and 1 week off roster.
Arranges travel and camp accommodation for personnel traveling to/from site as per the project schedule.
Leads the travel team and ensure efficient execution of rotational travel, for all site based staff.
Coordinates flight schedules ground transportation and passenger movements;
Coordinates the check-out of passengers on flight days, and arranges ground transportation as required;
Provides daily and/or weekly reporting on site manpower and turnaround schedules;
Resolves and addresses flight discrepancies and/or grievances;
Works closely with HR for personnel direction, as staff mobilize and demobilize from the project;
Researches and coordinates "best value" flight arrangements;
Responds to broad spectrum of travel issues by email and telephone;
Informs employee and site management of any travel discrepancies and ensures that all staff are aware of travel procedures;
Prepares travel and camp bed night reports, processes and delivers travel schedule as requested;
Manages and coordinates emergency travel situations such as delays caused by inclement weather or mechanical issues.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a travel coordinator role for camp and construction related projects.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing travel policies on a construction project will be highly regarded.
Experience in leading a team of travel coordinators is preferred.
Experience with INNfinity and Concur travel booking software would be considered an asset.
Team player with ability to work well under pressure and comfortable in a fast-paced environment;
Flexibility and ability to change within strict time constraints and meet deadlines;
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications; strong with Excel
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Experience working as a Travel Coordinator in construction industry on remote sites is an asset
Experience in any engineering administrative roles such as document control or with document management systems.
