Job Description:

SUMMARY:


Prepare and review documents related to mortgage and consumer lending. Perform closings on mortgage and consumer loans for transfer to Loan Servicing Department.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



  • Apply internal policies, investor guidelines and regulatory restrictions such as TRID, MLA, RESPA and REG Z to ensure quality, accurate loan documentation for mortgage and consumer loan preparation.

  • Prepare mortgage and consumer loan documentation using Laser Pro and mortgage processing software. 

  • Review loan file content to ensure file completion and compliance prior to loan preparation and closing.

  • Balance with title companies to ensure proper distribution of loan funds.

  • Execute escrow analysis, review insurance coverages, validate flood zone review and documentation, clear underwriting closing conditions and construction lending documentation requirements.

  • Ability to resolve closing conditions and/or issues in a timely manner including title policy items and/or other related third parties.

  • Assist with mortgage software testing and documentation compliance due to regulatory updates.

  • Provide timely and accurate customer service both internally and externally using problem-solving skills to satisfy customer needs and ensure accurate resolution to customer requests.

 


Additional Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Project friendliness and professionalism in both appearance and attitude when dealing with customers in order to present a positive Riverview image.


  • Support management team as it relates to identifying mortgage team training needs and providing additional support to staff as needed.

  • Participate in and complete training objectives with passing scores.

  • Follow all Riverview Community Bank policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned.

 


RELATIONSHIPS


- Daily contact with the Supervisor/Manager to receive direction and interpretation of existing and new procedures.


-  Daily contact with loan officers, mortgage processors, and other Loan Servicing personnel to provide information and assistance.


-  Occasional contact with representatives of businesses who provide necessary confirmation, documentation, etc., of various types of loan related information (i.e., appraisers, title and credit companies, real estate agencies, and various government agencies).


 


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and up to two years of related course work; and three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


 


SKILLS:



  • Advanced knowledge of mortgage loans including escrow processing, private mortgage insurance, interest and payment calculations, HMDA reporting requirements and other mortgage and/or consumer related subjects.

  • Full understanding of software applications to include but not limited to: Mortgage Builder, LaserPro, D+H Host, Sharepoint, NinPro or other in-house software and Internet based applications

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, and Outlook applications. 

  • Standard knowledge of technical applications such as: computers, documentation requirements, regulations, analysis, etc.

  • Ability to work independently with little guidance required to accomplish goals and standards within quality and time standards.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a professional manner. 

  • Ability to analyze complex problems involving several variables in unique situations with customers and lenders.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in a written and/or oral manner

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, investor guidelines, manuals, and governmental regulations.   

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, ratios, fractions, amortization tables, interest for both amortized and simple interest loans, points, and basic to intermediate accounting practices/standards.

  • Ability to be flexible in a changing work environment.

 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms in accessing files.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.  In handling files, manuals and other printed materials; the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in working with computers and documents.


 


WORK ENVIRONMENT


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock in working with standard office equipment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
