POSITION

Tenure Track or Clinical Assistant Professor of Art & Design in Photography and Related Media

SALARY

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach courses ranging from introductory to advanced undergraduate and graduate levels in Photography and Related Media, as well as supervise the Graduate Teaching Assistant Practicum. Courses may include: black and white film photography, studio lighting, digital imaging, video, alternative processes, documentary photo and the history of photography. There is also the possibility of teaching professional practice and foundation level courses as needed. The successful candidate will run and maintain the lighting studio, dark room and computer lab. Contribution to departmental and school-level activities and service are expected. Sustained creative endeavor/research at the national/international level is expected of tenure-track faculty. Clinical faculty are expected to sustain national/international visibility through professional practice and public engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

M.F.A. in Photography required to be considered for the Tenure-Track position. M.A. or equivalent experience in Photography will be considered for the Clinical Faculty position. National/international level recognition for area of expertise and a minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the university level or beyond are desired. Demonstrated experience in all studio practices of fine art photography—both traditional and digital required. Knowledge of contemporary theory and history also required.
