Job Description

  

The Security Division Controller is a key business partner to the General Manager and responsible for the long term financial health and success of the business.  This role includes key FP&A functions such as financial reporting, corporate reporting, strategic planning/budgeting, and capital planning functions as well as strategic long term roadmap planning and analysis.  The position will be responsible for providing leadership, financial strategies, and the management of financial resources to ensure the achievement of the unit’s business plans and objectives. A principal responsibility will be to ensure the quality and accuracy of financial management, including processes and business analysis. The successful candidate will be a professional of unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character who has demonstrated high moral and ethical behavior.

Responsibilities:


  • Operate as a financial leader/resource with strong expertise in accounting issues faced by manufacturing environments including cost accounting, inventory management, revenue recognition, variance analysis, etc.

  • Develop financial and business processes to improve operating efficiency and quality reporting.

  • Work extensively with operations personnel to assure issues that may impact quarterly and annual forecasts are addressed early to increase likelihood forecasts will be achieved or exceeded.

  • Coordinate and manage the Division’s financial statements.

  • Assist business unit leadership in establishing operating plans and budgets.

  • Present monthly and quarterly financial statements, forecasts and analytical reports to the Commercial Business Unit Finance Leader and the GM.  Provide recommendations for improving overall performance and profitability.

  • Support audit requirements.

  • Assist in developing ideas and actively help lead the business regarding strategic and tactical management issues, bringing financial and general business expertise to the division’s leadership.

  • Other activities as assigned.


Core Competencies: 

  • Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within finance and the business leadership, and capable of making presentations Senior Management.

  • An analytical thinker who has the ability to manage internal financial operations while also focusing on the external aspects of a publicly held organization.

  • Articulate, persuasive, and able to build confidence with the financial staff and the executive management team.

  • The ability to quickly command respect and credibility through intellectual acumen, business knowledge, and practical understanding of both the financial and operational aspects of a business.

  • Leverage financial tools (SAP, PowerBI) to drive accountability and identify areas for improvement.

  • Hands-on pragmatic approach to business, asset management, cash flow, and profitability.


Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience with demonstrated career growth.

  • Strong accounting skills/experience including revenue recognition, cost accounting, and inventory management. Demonstrated ability to establish strong processes and internal controls.

  • Clear understanding of ERP system functionality (SAP preferred)

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a leadership role in reporting financial results as well as providing strategic direction from a financial and operational standpoint.

  • Ability to analyze financial statements and make recommendations to improve financial /operational results.

  • Ability to develop, implement and manage change effectively.

  • Undergraduate degree in either accounting or finance is required.
