As an International Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for handling all interface for internal and external customers, ensuring customer satisfaction with each transaction. This is a fast-paced job that supports and blends responsibilities in the areas of customs compliance, operations, sales, and customer care for our international and offshore customers. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Assist both internal and external customers via phone, e-mail, and fax with inquiries relative to international shipping, customs requirements, shipment tracing, billing and invoicing questions, and requests for information

  • Communicate with customs brokers and customers to ensure clearance of shipments to prevent unnecessary delays at the borders

  • Recognize and resolve documentation errors

  • Assist drivers with shipment and trip information relative to crossing the border

  • Process shipments and trips to ensure on-time service to our customers, and seamless border crossings for our drivers

  • Maintain accurate shipment history and audit integrity

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years of office experience dealing with corporate customers, or inbound/outbound call center experience

  • Strong problem-solving and investigative skills to bring issues to resolution

  • Strong computer and typing skills (minimum 35 wpm typing)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook)

  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Working knowledge of transportation industry

  • Cross border and customs brokerage experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Pleasant and professional phone etiquette

  • Positive, can-do attitude to achieve goals

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and remain highly-organized

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
