Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Operational Excellence Coach I in Middleton, TN.   This role will understand, deploy and teach Lean methodologies and principles on a basic level in an effort to determine which methodology applies to any particular problem current or from past occurrences.  Essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Identify the correct OpEx methodology to improve manufacturing and business processes
  • Teach OpEx methodologies to team members and/or cross functional teams
  • Help identify and prioritize improvement opportunities using a range of methodologies (Visual Management, Value Stream Assessment & Design (VSA/VSD))
  • Total Productive Maintenance (structure of implementation and workshop facilitation)
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Project Management (Intermediate Projects)
  • Coach team members, functional teams and cross-functional teams in the methodology of Visual Management (VM), including how to set up VM tools, how to interpret them and how to act on them applied to the projects.
  • Write new procedures and process instructions as necessary. Maintain and improve existing procedures and processes
  • Prepare reports and training materials in addition to technical reports
  • Create and deliver education, training and coaching in a variety of methods: Classroom instruction, Hands-on exercises, Simulations, 1:1, etc.
  • Act as subject matter expert locally for all Lean Methodologies and Principles
  • Develop intermediate level solutions for cross-functional problems
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Projects

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Engineering degree is a plus)
  • Certification in Green Belt Six Sigma is a must
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing is a plus
  • Proven track record of 3-5 years successful, hands-on implementation of a broad range of Lean methodologies
  • Possess intermediate skill level training and coaching skills
  • Experience in facilitating successful teams (Project, Functional, Kaizen/RIE)
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and able work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate change
  • Intermediate skillset in Microsoft Office software, specifically spreadsheet and presentation applications (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Able to work with a concentrated focus on details
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written
  • Possess the ability to excel at working with team members at all levels
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels within the company
  • Experienced in facilitating successful teams (Project, Functional, Kaizen/RIE)
  • Able to effectively facilitate change
  • Experienced in working heavily with cross functional team members at all levels
  • Possess an advanced understanding with experience in various facets of the manufacturing enterprise
