Provide patient care on the inpatient Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) service, under the direction of the attending physician. Provide overall medical care and management for patients, exercising autonomy in the services provided. Plan, deliver, and evaluate the health care required by the patient, consistent with accreditation guidelines. Focus on caring for hospitalized patients in order to maximize resource utilization and to control costs to patients and the institution while providing personalized care. As the patients return to the outpatient setting, assist in providing care and to develop relationship with outpatient care providers. In addition to the ability to exercise autonomy and function independently, the individual needs to be able to work under the direction of the attending physician. Patient care responsibilities will include working on weekends based on assigned schedule .
Salary at 100% effort is $100,000-Commensurate
Physician Assistant (PA): Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP): A Master's degree is required. A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred. If a Master's degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required.
ARNP - Board certified and registered as an ARNP in state of Iowa.
ARNP - Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in area of practice is required or previous experience in specified hospital specialty area or demonstrated knowledge gained through educational program or clinicals of area of clinical practice.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff and students is required.
Experience providing overall medical care and provide medical management for patients in an inpatient setting is highly desirable.
Experience exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided is highly desirable.
