Tetra Tech, Inc. currently has an opportunity for a Business Development / Environmental Engineer at our Washington, D.C. location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide leadership to local and corporation-wide business development efforts including the development of strategic initiatives

  • Initiate direct client contact through client communications, meetings and presentations

  • Conduct business development activities and work with the company management in the development of business plans and strategies for U.S. Government and commercial clients

  • Market to all levels and all departments of the U.S. Government and commercial industry clients to identify and develop new projects to achieve 10% growth per year

  • Ensure client satisfaction and client focus in the execution of project work


  • Develop and propose Department of Homeland Security's Office of Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) upcoming opportunities, including the Science, Engineering, and Technical Assistance (SETA) contract.


  • Provide assistance with CONUS and OCONUS nuclear non-proliferation programs. This will include interfacing with Tetra Tech's U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence Program (NSDD) client personnel at their offices located in Washington, DC. Activities will include gathering real-time program and task specific information, providing feedback, and attending meetings.


  • Assisting Tetra Tech's pursuit and performance of new business unrelated to nuclear non-proliferation. This will entail proposal strategy, development, and review for the sediments remediation, water remediation, and other projects.



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in an applicable field

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of business development, marketing, and proposal experience

  • Individual must have experience in developing projects for the Department of Energy and commercial clients

  • Have a proven record of successfully developing and executing projects

  • Must be able to lead multi-discipline project teams, demonstrate successful experience in project management and execution, and provide high quality work products to the clients.

  • Familiarity with all regulatory requirements under DOE, DOD and NRC is required.

  • Good communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.

  • Have experience working with Federal Contracting policies.

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical organizations.
