The Logistics Analystposition is a key operational role supporting the management of clinical patient samples, kit fulfillment, and supporting materials for Illumina’s Clinical Lab Services group. In this role reporting to the Assoc. Manager of Logistics, you will be a key contributor in the successful execution of a high volume/growth service products at Illumina within the clinical environment.
The Logistics Analyst will support the activities in the warehouse and logistics such as compliance, shipment and custom document preparation and monitoring/expediting shipments. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of all global inbound patient samples to multiple lab locations and evaluate cost and efficiency opportunities within the supply chain network. In addition, this role will coordinate and analyze customer kit fulfillment from 3PLs while supporting carrier selection and negotiation to meet operational KPI’s. The analyst will track and analyze missed shipments to ensure quick resolution and mitigate future occurrences while participate in teams for continuous process improvement and contribute to the end-to-end service delivery model. The candidate should possess cross-site cross functional skills in a matrix environment to successfully collaborate with internal groups such as LabOps, SCM, Quality, Engineering, R&D and Finance, amongst others.
All About You
Prepare international shipping documents to comply with all local and international regulations
Manage and trend logistics KPI’s/metrics to meet operational goals and drive root/cause analysis
Monitor freight cost and drive cost savings through network optimization, negotiation, and kit development opportunities.
Identify upgrades to technology systems by surveying user requirements to drive improvements to operational dashboards and 3PL Integrations.
Contribute in QBR and performance monitoring for logistics providers/3PLs
Maintain functional area work instructions, manage logistics related NCR’s to ensure compliance.
Work with internal and external customers to resolve shipping receiving issues
Track and expedite samples and kit materials from 3PLs to insure sample integrity
Additional duties/responsibilities assigned according to business needs
Present Analysis to peers and leadership to influence decisions
2 - 4 years experience in logistics or supply chain
Ability to effectively collaborate with others and maintain flexible and adaptable to product changes in scope and scale.
Possesses excellent data analytical skills and acts as a problem solver. Someone with the ability to measure and analyze potential issues while proactively address problems before they occur.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in MS Office, Advance Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, etc) , Tableau, Confluence and Jira
Experience using an ERP system (SAP preferred)
Experience working with small package carriers, specialty couriers, LTL, freight forwarders and customs brokers is preferable.
Knowledge of Fed Ex, UPS & DHL shipping platforms
IATA/DOT certified a plus
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field
