AMETEK AEROSPACE & DEFENSE manufactures and provides repair and overhaul services for commercial transport, regional aircraft, business jets, military aircraft and military vehicles, and also serves both the airframe and engine component manufacturers and aftermarket industry segments. The AMETEK MRO Division provides Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul services across a broad range of aircraft components for the large commercial, regional airline, business aviation and military market segments.
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide technical/operational support to the production cells as well as perform disassembly, cleaning, safety wiring and painting of aviation components. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Will report to cell leads for any technical issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Not limited as other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
•Properly executing the duties assigned.
•Perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
•DC motor re-manufacturing along with occasional building of test stands/jigs/equipment
•Ensure that all maintenance documentation is completed legibly and correctly for all work performed.
•Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.
•Ensure the accuracy and quality of all work performed within their respective shops.
•Ensure the proper handling of all parts while being processed through the maintenance function.
•Reads, understands and implements directions of appropriate maintenance manuals to identify and
locate associated shop components.
•Ensure all required maintenance actions are performed in accordance with the applicable manufacturers or customer provided maintenance manual and that all actions are correctly and completely documented on the appropriate maintenance forms.
•High School Diploma
•A&P preferred but not mandatory
•Has a minimum of 2 years of practical experience in procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, and equipment generally used in the work performed by his/her assigned shop.
•Has the necessary experience and knowledge to perform the duties and responsibilities of an accessory component technician as evidenced by training records, resume, employment history or formal training certificates.
•Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
•Customer focused and results oriented.
•System knowledge such as Microsoft office and Quantum preferred but not mandatory.
•Strong business judgment and ethical work habits.
•Light mig and tig welding experience a plus
