Colonial Pipeline is looking for a Senior Attorney – Commercial Transactions, based out of our corporate office in Alpharetta, GA. This is a new position that will report to the Managing Attorney, Commercial & Governance. This individual will work on a full range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate financing arrangements. The responsibilities will include the review, revision, and negotiation of agreements with customers, vendors, shippers, and other third parties. This person will partner with the commercial affairs and procurement teams to advance corporate objectives related to commercial transactions and respond to in-house clients on matters relating to commercial transactions. At times, this person will work with and manage outside counsel.

Provide strategic legal advice and coordinate with all functions within the company on matters related to commercial transactions
Identify and assist in responding to emerging concerns, including developing any relevant training materials
Work collaboratively with internal and external counsel, consultants and business unit staff on project assignments
Provide advice on proposed commercial and corporate deal structures and advise on how to mitigate risks associated with such structures and arrangements
Lead negotiations on proposed transactions from initial stages through completion
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
8 + years transactional legal experience with a concentration in commercial transactions
2+ years’ experience leading negotiations and structuring deals.
Certification & Licensure
Membership in good standing in the state bar association as an attorney qualified to practice law in Georgia
In-house commercial transactions experience
