Automotive Retail Sales Representative – Inside Sales Consultant

Job Responsibilities

As an Automotive Retail Sales Representative, you will be responsible for upholding our
standards, promoting our brand, and effectively presenting the features and benefits of each vehicle by acquiring complete working knowledge of all product lines sold and utilizing proven sales techniques to assess, qualify and satisfy the needs of every customer. This will involve, establishing personal income goals consistent with dealership standards of productivity and developing a strategy to meet those goals.

Specific duties for this retail sales / customer service role include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting and offering assistance to guests who enter the dealership showroom or sales lot

  • Ensuring guest satisfaction by meeting transportation needs on every vehicle purchase

  • Suggesting recommendations regarding the purchase of any extended service packages

  • Ensuring that technicians perform a proper disclosure and repair any hazardous problems before showing the vehicle to a guest

  • Knowing and understanding federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales

  • Delivering vehicles and ensuring that the guest understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork

  • Introducing guests to service department personnel to emphasize on the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department

  • Following up on all post-delivery items and special requests to meet guest expectations

  • Performing other duties, as needed

Job Requirements

We are looking for highly motivated and goal-oriented Automotive Retail Sales Representatives who combine the eagerness to excel and a competitive entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to function effectively in a continuously changing and fast-paced environment. It is also important that you display highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills as well as the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility with a wide range of existing and potential clients.

Specific qualifications for this business development role include:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • A thorough insight into automotive products

  • A valid drivers' license with a reputable record

  • Ability to exhibit a high level of commitment to guest satisfaction

  • Strong drive to get things done; “go-getter” attitude

  • Ability to work comfortably both individually and in a team environment

  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with team members and guests and exceed their expectations

  • Previous sales experience, a plus
