This predecessor to Alaska Regional was a joint venture between local physicians and the Presbyterian Church. In 1976 the hospital moved to its present location on DeBarr Road, and is now a 250-bed licensed and accredited facility.
For more than 50 years Alaska Regional has been fulfilling the medical needs of Alaskans, continually improving the scope of services and skills available within the state. A Neonatal Registered Nurse (RN) who renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet Neonatal patients physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The Neonatal RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to meet the needs of Neonatal patients and family based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure; coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships.
LICENSE REQUIRED: REGISTERED NURSE STATE OF ALASKA
BLS, NRP Required
EMPLOYEE HEALTH: CURRENT : PPD Immunizations Fit Test

The Neonatal patient population may include care of the neonate , babies
for routine care, babies exhibiting withdrawal from mothers with addiction,
Respiratory illnesses, hyperbiliuremia.

AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED:
Performs age specific neonate assessments
Assesses age specific safety issues for neonates
Performs venipuncture properly for neonate
Provides supportive communication and interaction with infant s families.

POSITION (MINIMUM) REQUIREMENT CHECKLIST

Knowledge of State of
Alaska law, Nurse Practice Act, Federal/CMS regulations and Joint Commission standards
Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools:
