The GI technician performs a variety of duties in the GI Unit related to maintaining a safe, efficient and supportive environment for patients undergoing procedures in the Gastroenterology Unit with a focus on the Patient Family Centered Care model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. He/she will assist nurses and physicians in the care of these patients. The GI technician will procure and maintain equipment and supplies in collaboration with the Clinical Leader as well as perform secretarial duties as needed.
Schedule: 40 hours, 5-8 hour shifts, variable start times. Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays.

High school diploma or equivalent required. 2 years experience as a nursing assistant or medical technician preferred. Knowledge of high level disinfection of procedural area experience. Staff adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards. Basic clerical skills such as organizing paperwork, filing, answering telephones, paging. Restocking patient rooms. Ordering and organizing stock.
