MultiCare Health System is a not-for-profit health care organization based in Tacoma, WA (south of Seattle). Since our founding more than a century ago, we ve grown into Washington State s largest community-based, locally governed health system with hospitals, primary care, urgent care, home health, hospice and other specialty services.
This summer, we're creating an opportunity for talented HR college students to gain experience in our fast-paced, forward-thinking Human Potential division. This is a full-time temporary summer position. There may be opportunities for part-time work during the school year.
If selected, you'll provide support and project leadership working independently and collaboratively with others. Projects will be selected based on business needs as well as your unique skills, experience and interests. Areas of focus may include Benefits, Compensation, Education Services, Employee & Labor Relations, HR Information Systems, HR Operations and/or Recruiting.
During yoru internship, you will lead one or more projects that address an identified HR need. You will also gain experience in HR Operations by providing interim coverage for non-exempt roles in HR areas such as the Employee Resource Center, Education Services or Recruiting Services. As scheduling and workload permit, you will also have the opportunity to attend MultiCare training courses.
* Currently enrolled in accredited undergraduate or graduate Human Resources, Business Administration or related academic program.
* Previous experience in an office environment
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
* Strong computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Skill in time management
* Skill in oral, written and interpersonal communication to include appropriate grammar and correct spelling
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet commitments
* Ability to work independently, take initiative and willingly accept responsibility
* Ability to set priorities and use good judgment
* Ability to follow MultiCare policies
