Job Description:


Summary Objective:

The Mind Body Director will build, develop and lead a team of instructors, provide oversight, development and direction to the Mind Body program, manage member interactions, and exceed revenue and goal expectations under the direction of the Mind Body Coordinator and with the Mind Body Team.

Essential Functions:


  • Achieve monthly revenue and operating income goals for Pilates and Yoga and any other Mind Body paid program training services

  • Provide a safe and effective Mind Body paid program experience to help improve member satisfaction and retention

  • Integrate new members and new clients into Mind Body programming

  • Develop a monthly Mind Body schedule for a wide variety of members

  • Promote Mind Body paid programs and encourage members to cross-train and experiment with formats

  • Audition, hire, coach, and evaluate Mind Body program staff for our Mind/Body Paid programs

  • Actively recruit and hire qualified Pilates and Yoga instructors for our paid programs

  • Conduct interviews and define company expectations

  • Mentor the Mind and Body paid program instructors through new hire development program and ongoing staff development opportunities

  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to all Mind and Body staff

  • Conduct at least one group staff development meeting per quarter for existing Pilates and Yoga instructors

  • Introduce, expose and teach the most up to date, safe, fun and efficient methods of training to instructors of all levels thus promoting a well-rounded staff

  • Conduct at least one individual business development meeting for each Pilates and Yoga instructor per month

  • Monitor industry trends and standards and modify programs accordingly


Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize and conduct special events and demos monthly

  • Attend all mandatory meetings, conference calls, and development classes

  • Maintain personnel files for all instructors to ensure all staff are current with company mandated credentials

  • Maintain and post schedule copies for members and staff, updating as changes occur

  • Inform front-desk staff of current schedules and instructors

  • Manage accurate instructor phone list

  • Coordinate and promote program and club events

  • Submit accurate payroll information to General Manager in a timely fashion

  • Teach Pilates sessions while abiding by monthly limits as established by General Manager

  • Participate in meetings or trainings as required

  • Meet at least once per month with General Manager (or as GM requires)

  • Promote continuing education opportunities

  • Ensure instructors maintain certifications and keeps files up to date

  • Observe and evaluate instructor classes and performance, providing coaching and formal evaluations at least once per quarter

  • Report safety issues or injuries to General Manager and competes accident/witness reports as needed

  • Inspect equipment weekly, keeps inventory, and report repair needs to Maintenance Director and General Manager

  • Manage communication with members regarding requests or changes to schedules

  • Assume other duties as assigned

  • Work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as assigned

Required Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • Nationally recognized Pilates apparatus or Yoga certification from a US Fitness accepted provider required (minimum of 500 hour program)

  • PMA certification preferred

  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required

  • Previous experience in management and class instruction preferred

  • Good manual dexterity is required for computer use and paperwork
