Job Description:

Summary Objective:

The Facilities Technician is responsible for providing a safe and functional club environment under the management of the Facilities Manager and with the support of the Facilities Team.  The Facilities Technician will travel to all US Fitness locations in the DC Metropolitan area to ensure functional equipment and clean facilities for all members, guests, and prospects.

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time

  • Travel to over 20 health clubs in the DC, Metropolitan area and maintain property to ensure a safe and attractive environment for members

  • Troubleshoot facility issues as needed

  • Maintain, repair, and renovate health club environments through tool and contractor use

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete regular inspections to identify and repair problems

  • Maintain pools and spas, carpentry, tile, painting, drywall and general building repair

  • Complete all required plumbing, electrical, chemicals, filter and general maintenance

  • Answer all inquiries from senior leadership and management in a timely, complete manner

  • Repair and maintain club equipment, plumbing, and lighting fixtures

  • Uphold club, building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures

  • Attend all mandatory meetings

  • Assume all other duties as assigned

  • Work morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as necessary

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong work ethic that includes punctuality, organization, and attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude

  • Outwardly facing professional appearance

  • Desire to create new relationships quickly

  • Ability to handle situations with patience, tact, and professionalism

  • Skilled in heating and air conditioning unit repair and maintenance

  • Operate appropriate tools effectively

  • Willingness to work flexible hours

  • Communicate verbally and non-verbally

  • Work well under pressure

  • Ability to select and use appropriate tools

Required Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • 2-5 years of previous experience in facilities preferred

  • Valid Driver’s License
