Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Directs the maintenance team, programs, and process of the assigned plant to ensure timely and effective production. Ensures optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, etc.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees contractors for facility repair and maintenance and any renovation needs.

  • Coordinates with management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.

  • Provides consistent administration of Company policies, procedures, and work practices.

  • Works closely with manufacturing supervisors

  • Tracks and reports daily activity in Safety, Quality Production

  • Executes company training, continuous improvement, and associate development initiatives

  • Facilitates team involvement in all areas of operation

  • Coordinates equipment outages and standard shut-down projects.

  • Analyzes equipment needs, ensures equipment reliability, and develops PPM programs.

  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours to resolve issues, complete projects or respond to emergency situations as needed.

  • Establish parts and materials usage procedures and programs.

  • Direct involvement with PM programs and safety systems such as LOTO

  • Heavy focus on continuous improvement and lean initiatives

  • Support and enforce facility safety systems.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • High School Diploma or GED required, and A or B
    o A) Bachelor's Degree in applicable discipline and three years in a Maintenance Leadership role OR
    o B) Eight years equivalent work experience in which five have been in a Leadership Role

  • Experience in heavy manufacturing maintenance to include mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with equipment and electronics such as motors, drives, air compressors, chillers, grinders, water pumps, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills

  • Excellent Communication skills

  • Current Valid Driver's License

  • Must be willing to travel as needed.

  • Must employ experience and good judgment in project and time management

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the facilities, environmental and safety arena.

  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships

    FINANCIAL BUDGETING, CAPITAL, AND/OR MANPOWER RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Conduct performance reviews

  • Assist in the development and ongoing management of capital projects and their budgets
