Position Summary

DRS Infrared Sensors and Systems in Dallas, Texas specializes as a worldwide leader in thermal imagery and sensory solutions for commercial and military applications.

We are looking to add a new member to our Focal Plane Array team to help provide leadership and technical expertise in the field of problem solving, yield analysis and root cause analysis.

We are looking for someone with management and/or project management experience. This person will lead multifunctional teams that solve yield excursions, improve baseline yields, perform root cause analysis, and implement cost reduction efforts.

We are looking for someone with formal problem solving and project management experience for a Senior Process Engineer position.

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Education: 8+ years

  • Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Skills

  • Desire to win and the ability to effectively integrate with the team

  • Self-motivated and focused on developing and successfully implementing the team’s vision and goals

  • Strong knowledge base in and experience with problem solving processes (ex. Kepner Tregoe).

  • Experience using analysis software packages (ex. Cornerstone, Spotfire, etc.)

  • Experience using Matlab

  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing, circuit design, and test

  • Experience with failure analysis tools and techniques

  • Experience with data collection, databases, and database queries

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Organizational skills and the ability to document and communicate plans, experiments, progress, and results

  • Ability to effectively participate in multifunctional teams to improve yields, solve problems and implement corrective actions

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Yield Monitoring, Root Cause Analysis, and Cost Reduction projects in line with vision and goal of the team

  • Design and implementation of infrastructure to improve effectiveness of yield and problem solving related work

  • Develop reports and software tools to improve capapbility of monitor for excursions and/or solving problems

  • Ensure projects are completed, results are documented, and reports are written

  • Implement and monitor key performance metrics to detect and solve problems and minimize the impact to product

  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

  • Provide the vision for the future of process development activities needed to lead in product capability and manufacturabiliy

  • Lead and comple projects on schedule and budget

  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

  • Other duties as assigned
