Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
This position is for a Lead Database Administrator, experienced in high availability, disaster recovery, data transmission, database maintenance/upgrades, audit controls, etc. for high transactional and data warehousing platforms. The candidate will supervise employees who are engaged in developing, maintaining and modifying applications programs and systems. Is responsible for coordinating the work of subordinate developers and for verifying the maintenance of programming quality standards. Trains subordinates in programming techniques. Emphasis will be placed on automating, maintaining, and enhancing existing manual procedures, programs, software and systems. Participates in problem analysis and system design preparatory to development of programs.
Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management in regards to PREMIER applications and/or ongoing data schema and documentation of all internal databases and tables. Performs work that affects business operations to a substantial degree of multiple internal PREMIER applications and external applications. Completes major assignments affecting the operations of the business through multiple internal PREMIER applications and external applications and may include databases and tables. Ensure Internal Programming Requests are implemented in an uninterrupted and non-detrimental fashion by participating in the software releases.
5+ years Microsoft SQL server experience necessary. Prefer a minimum of 1-2 years of progressively responsible management experience in a software development/database environment.
Candidate will have enhanced computer skills, including detailed knowledge of processing, spreadsheet, data transmission software, and internet. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to concentrate and work independently. Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills including being able to think logically. Capacity to learn, adapt to change, and become proficient quickly. Ability to exercise self-control, adhere to company policies and procedures and uphold The PREMIER Way.
