Location: Midland, Texas
This position is located in Midland, TX as a member of Anadarko’s Delaware Basins Health, Safety & Environmental Team. Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of OSHA requirements and industry recommended practices (API, IADC, etc.) and their application to the design, construction and operation of drilling and completion equipment.
Minimum of Eight (8) + years of Health, Safety and Environmental experience preferred; preferably in support of onshore oil & gas well drilling and completions activity.
Must have experience within HSE contractor management.
Effective interpersonal skills dealing with personnel at various levels and in a variety of functions.
Ability to challenge the organization in a manner that maintains trust and respect.
Proficient technical and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present complex topics in a concise manner.
Position will be responsible for Health, Safety and Environmental activities associated with drilling and completions operations in West Texas and is expected to work within the field locations at least 50% of the time.
Manage applicable contract HSE consultants.
Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to provide HSE support.
Provide support to Hazard Analysis processes to ensure hazards are identified and verify that appropriate prevention and/or mitigation measures are implemented.
Lead or facilitate incident investigations.
Conduct periodic site assessments and hazard assessments and communicate findings to leadership.
Coordinate with HSE Manager and HSE team to ensure effective use of best practices and consistency in approach to HSE responsibilities.
Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management utilizing Company policies, standards and processes for all operational activities.
Plan and participate in HSE audits/reviews of drilling and completion operations and related assigned areas to ensure proper implementation and compliance.
Support the implementation and achievement of HSE objectives and performance measures during all drilling and completion activities.
Lead initiatives to promote visible and proactive management commitment and employee engagement in HSE activities.
Ensure compliance with tracking and reporting HSE performance data (e.g. incident report findings, audit actions, and related HSE metrics).
Participate and audit job-planning activities, including Hot Work, Permit-to-work l(PTW), Job Safety Assessment (JSA) and hazard recognition.
Complete monthly HSE report for area of responsibility and attend periodic drilling and completion operational meetings and reviews.
Ensure proper emergency response proficiencies are evident in drilling and completion operations.

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or other related field preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. 4 or more years of experience required with a Bachelor’s degree. 10 or more Years Relevant Experience without Bachelor’s Degree.
Valid driver's license with no restriction that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
This position may be eligible for domestic relocation.
Percentage of travel required for this position is 20%.
This position is eligible for 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
