Summary/Objective:

The Lead Production Supervisor is responsible for safety, quality, and productivity levels, cost effectiveness, on-time delivery and employee involvement of their departments through the effective direction of the industrial staff they supervise.

Essential Functions: 
































  •    Motivates supervisors and employees through training, goal setting, communication, and coaching.

  •   Responsible for all production activities meeting and reporting levels of performance in quality, productivity, customer satisfaction and on-time delivery to meet divisional goals.

  • Continuously improves manufacturing operations through participation and leading of improvement teams, through implementation of improvements and training of employees on improvement methods.

  • Provides timely communication to manager and coordinates with other departments to assure smooth operations, and communicates any problems and/or progress.  Represents manufacturing leadership in a variety of meetings and improvement teams.

  •  Ensures that safe work performance is the first priority of operations through training, periodic meetings, incident investigations, and improvement and audit activities.

  • Schedules production operations and staffing in a productive manner so as to ensure maximum quality and on-time delivery.  Reports production data.

  • Needs to have an understanding of machinery & components, their specifications and be able to understand and identify drawings and bill of material.

  • Troubleshooting, technical evaluations and process improvement support to operation, technical and engineering teams

Required Education and Experience: 


  • High School Diploma

  • 5+ years supervisory/leadership experience or B.S. in technical field and 3 years leadership experience


  • Preferred Education and Experience: 


 


  • Knowledge of ISO standards

  • Lean manufacturing, 5S & Kaizan practices

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position requires supervisory responsibility over a team of one or more individuals.
