Job Description:

This position is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction for the operational success of The Depot Minneapolis Complex (two hotels, F&B and event operations, water park, ice rink, and parking). Uses leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit and ensure quality. Effectively manages salaried staff to ensure achievement of overall financial results, guest satisfaction and positive employee relations. Serves as primary point of contact for owner, and corporate office team.

• Aggressively pursues revenue goals.

• Responsible for yield management and maximization or revenue of hotel and F&B operations.

• Ensures effective marketing and efficient operation of entertainment venues.

• Prepares and manages budgets to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

• Responsible for management of Depot Complex expenses to maximize profitability.

• Follows CSM procurement guidelines and applies good business judgment.

• Manages and maintains company assets to stay within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.

• Provides leadership and direction in the hotel sales process; analyzes, develops and implements effective changes to capitalize on revenue opportunities and maximize hotel/company profitability.

• Establishes strategic marketing plans and executes all strategies and business plans.

• Prepares and manages budgets to ensure smooth and efficient operational procedures are in place.

• Provides guidance in all areas of administration.

• Ensures that effective, positive communication is maintained between all functional areas.

• Manages communication and relationship with owner and other corporate office personnel.

• Ensures that all operational areas under their direction meet/exceed company and brand standards for guest satisfaction.

• Has full understanding of brand expectations/measurements and oversees successful implementation of same.

• Responsible for hiring, training and developing successful managers.

• Evaluates managers’ performance and takes appropriate corrective action to hold them accountable.

• Motivates staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees.

• Focuses on CSM’s goals of maintaining direct relationships with our associates.

• Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs and ensures implementation to improve results.

• Oversee and ensure efficient and effective operations of the complex.

• Encourage and lead process improvement and quality innovations as appropriate.

• Establishes and maintains a very visible, positive presence in the community by developing and maintaining relationships with local schools, universities, Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau, other hotels and community organizations.

• Responsible for effective self/workload management.

• Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Promotes collaboration and positive, professional work environment.

• Adheres and upholds all CSM Standard Operating Procedures.

Competencies/Skills Required: 15+ years of progressive hotel management experience including a minimum of 7+ years in a large full service hotel with extensive Food and Beverage/catering operation and event space. Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with employees and guests. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with multiple outlets preferred. Multi-property experience a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis throughout shift.
