Location: Washington, Washington DC
Manages the daily operations of one or more supervisory programs and sections. Provides leadership in the development of the section and staff. Schedules workload, establishes priorities, assigns projects, sets quality standards, and monitors progress. Leads, motivates, and coaches staff. Fosters teamwork. Ensures that current section programs meet the Board?s and division?s business goals and recommends new programs. Identifies the needs and risks of the division and/or Board as they relate to the section(s). Directs research and analysis of significant issues relevant to the section(s). Serves as a member of the division's management team. Coordinates, reviews, and recommends to senior management operational changes and personnel actions. Responsible for communicating section policies and procedures, and seeks advice from senior management when developing new policies and procedures. Embodies a strong customer service philosophy.
The manager will be responsible for managing and directing staff who engage in the execution of core mandates of the Central Production Unit, including the development and implementation of infrastructure and production framework, implementation of supervisory stress test models, and enhancement to the public disclosure of supervisory stress testing models and results.
The position requires strong managerial and leadership skills necessary to direct staff and assess performance, set priorities, and allocate resources; knowledge of major Federal Reserve supervisory and regulatory initiatives, specifically in the areas of stress testing, capital and capital plan regulations, regulatory rulemaking, and supervision of larger and more complex entities; financial institutions, their business activities and the variety of risks generated by their activities; technical knowledge of statistical models and programming practices; and familiarity with the Federal Reserve's supervisory stress testing framework.
Specific requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, information systems, computer science, engineering or related business fields such as economics or finance is required; advanced degree preferred
- 8 years of specialized experience in stress testing, programming, model implementation, and/or other related areas
- Extensive experience with database management tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, statistical analysis packages (such as MatLab, R, SAS, Stata), scripting languages (such as Python or Perl), Linux/Unix, and/or version-control systems (such as Git)
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical and financial concepts to non-technical audience
- Ability to direct work in a matrix environment while accomplishing multiple goals within established and changing deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, edit and evaluate the work of senior quantitative and financial professionals and other staff
The position is located in Washington, DC. This position is not full time telework eligible.
