The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of almost 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid and oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP), Healthcare Facility Regulation and Health Information Technology in Georgia for one in four Georgians. Six enterprise offices support the work of the agency's four program divisions. DCH employees are based in Atlanta, Cordele and across the state.
The Georgia Department of Community Health, Medicaid Division, is seeking a qualified candidate for the Economic Support Consultant 2 (Error Control Specialist) position with the Right from the Start Medical Assistance section.
Location: This position of this office is will be located within/near the RSM Metro Area Coverage. The site will be determined based on suitable candidate and agency need (Out-stationed, tele-work possible.) The RSM Metro Area covers the counties of Clayton, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale.
Annual Salary Range: $30,806.32
Pay Grade: H
Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions to salary.
Under general supervision, interviews and investigates applicants and recipients to determine eligibility for use of social programs and agency resources. Records and evaluates personal and financial data obtained from individuals. Initiates procedures to grant, modify, deny, or terminate eligibility for various aid programs.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
May interview and investigate applicants and recipients to determine eligibility for Medicaid or PeachCare for Kids
High school diploma or GED AND Three years of related experience
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Two years of experience at the lower level Economic Support Cons 1 (SSP050) or position equivalent.
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experiences:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of recent Georgia Family Medicaid eligibility determination or policy application experience
