The Georgia Department of Public Health is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the state of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population.

The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Babies Can't Wait (BCW) Project Coordinator within the Division of Health Promotion - Maternal and Child Health Section.

The BCW Project Coordinator will provide support to the Babies Can't Wait (BCW) program through coordination of special projects.

This position is 20 hours/week (part-time) and reports to the Deputy Director of Early Intervention.



Job Responsibilities



  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for the execution of projects assigned by the Deputy Director including but not limited to the State Systemic Improvement Planning (SSIP) process, State Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC) and other projects as required.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time and within scope.

  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and making mid- course adjustments as needed based on relevant data and stakeholder input.

  • Request and acquire necessary resources through the chain of command for project completion.

  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.

  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope and schedule.

  • Measure SSIP implementation and other project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.

  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.

  • Manage the relationship with all stakeholders and partners.

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors involved in SSIP, the SICC and other project implementations.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

  • Serve as primary contact for Local Interagency Coordinating Councils (LICC), providing consultation and monitoring progress. Receive and review quarterly LICC reports.
