The Georgia Department of Public Health is the lead agency entrusted by the people of the state of Georgia with the ultimate responsibility for the health of communities and the entire population.

The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI), Team Lead within the Division of Health Promotion - Maternal and Child Health Section.

The Child Health Screening Program Manager provides leadership and management for the statewide system of EHDI for children with hearing loss.

This position reports to the Child Health Screening Program Manager.

Job Responsibilities


  • Serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the state level EHDI program.

  • Provides technical assistance, training, monitoring and consultation to Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) personnel, partners and providers in the public health districts.

  • Serves as state EHDI representative for required trainings, meetings, conferences and other engagements.

  • Supervise assigned program staff to include coaching, mentoring, development of performance goals, corrective action planning, performance recognition and reviewing leave and travel requests as applicable.

  • Directs the development, enhancement and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for the EHDI program statewide.

  • Monitor, assess and evaluate the EHDI program to ensure program compliance with state and federal guidelines.

  • Supports the evaluation team in data collection and reviewing outcome measures to assess the strengths and effectiveness of the EHDI program.

  • Provides technical assistance and advice to partners, districts and stakeholders to develop, implement, and improve EHDI program.

  • Develops and manage long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful program outcomes.

  • Monitors fiscal and programmatic activities related to grant and contract deliverables.

  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to promote, enhance and integrate program goals in populations and services.

  • Performs other assignments as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience managing professional level staff OR Seven years of related professional experience AND Three years managing at the level equivalent to area of assignment OR Three years of experience required at the lower level Mgr, Business Ops (GSM010) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
