Job Title: Assistant Dispatcher
Hours: 36 hours per week rotating shifts
Location: Louisville, KY without company-paid relocation funds
Work Environment: It is a fast paced, dynamic environment requiring the ability to multitask workload. Working an occasional Holiday may be required. Must be able to handle the Aircraft Dispatchers request with a sense of urgency. Candidate will be required to lift some supplies (25 lbs). Candidate will work indoors. Business casual is acceptable dress.
Job Summary: Provide support to Flight Control, Standards, and Charter Operations. This job is an entry level position which can lead to becoming a UPS Aircraft Dispatcher.
Job Description: Maintain, update, audit and surveillance of all Flight Control manuals. Provide data maintenance, updates audits and surveillance of Runway Construction report to monitor closed runways and ensure they are listed as class one NOTAMS or company NOTAMS. Provide office support by performing AvTech audits and coordinate with Airline Communications any findings for update. When required, complete the Flight Control Charter Checklist and additional duties as determined by the Flight Control Shift Supervisor. Distribute Mailroom for Flight Control Core personnel mail, Jeppesen revision, and packages.
Required Skills: Must possess an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate and have basic air carrier operations knowledge from a Part 135, 119, or 121 Domestic, Flag, or Supplemental operation. Must have 2 years of 14 CFR Part 121 dispatch experience.
Additional Skills: International/ ETOPS dispatch experience with a college degree preferred. Candidate's ability to speak a second language is ideal. Be prepared to learn several operation PC programs. Preferred candidate will possess a minimum of three years Flight Dispatch experience.
Interpersonal Skills: Candidate should be a team player, exhibit leadership skills, be self directed, show initiative, be able to make decisions on your own, have good organizational skills, have excellent attention to detail, and most important, have the ability to handle stress well.
