If organization and training are your strong points, we need to coordinate a meeting.  We are looking for a full time Regional Product Training Specialist to cover the Orange County region.  In this role, you’ll provide technical training and sales support for Garmin marine and end-users to promote the Garmin brand and increase market share. Develop, coordinate, present and implement product training programs and materials for key Garmin customers. Provide support for dealers at special events, grand openings, and trade shows.

In this role, you’ll also be responsible for these essential functions:

  • Visit Garmin dealer network to support sales and training efforts (75% of time or greater)

  • Partner and communicate regularly with Regional Sales Managers, Marketing Managers and Inside Sales to ensure appropriate merchandising, and presentation of Garmin products

  • Support proper execution of sales strategies by communicating regularly with Regional Sales Managers, Inside Sales, and Marketing Managers

  • Design, create and deliver training seminars to dealer network, and coordinate associated training activities with little or no supervision, exercising independent judgment as to how best to meet the individual training needs of the specific customer

  • Coordinate dealer contact strategies with Inside Sales team

  • Travel with little or no supervision

You will also be responsible for:

  • Assist in developing new training programs associated with the introduction of new products or services

  • Design, create, and develop training syllabuses, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials designed to meet the special needs of the intended customers

  • Support dealers in special events, regional shows, grand openings, etc.

  • Complete timely and succinct trip reports, dealer review entries, and status reports

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in all customer contact activities

  • Maintain excellent product and current marketing program knowledge

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Qualified candidates for this role will possess the following education, experience and skills:

Bachelors Degree in sales, marketing or a field relevant to this role or 4 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description

  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years experience selling or supporting marine navigation electronics

  • Must possess a minimum of 1 year experience working in a retail sales environment

  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years experience developing and delivering training relevant to the essential functions of this job description

  • Must possess demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability

  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

  • Must possess demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision

  • Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (75% of time or greater)

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

  • Candidates with knowledge of competitive products and extensive knowledge of Garmin product is preferred.
