Assembly Media Inc., a subsidiary of Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc., has an exciting opportunity for an Account Executive on the Xbox team in the Seattle office. This vital position will support the gaming division of Microsoft’s global Xbox brand. This is a great opportunity to bring your experience in public relations and your understanding of the consumer technology space to Assembly. The job will focus on engaging with technology, consumer and gaming reporters to promote gaming news, announcements and launches from development studios of all sizes. The role will also include broad-reaching alignment with Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group. Not to mention, you’ll be surrounded by really smart (and fun) people, work in a vibrant (and fun) office, and work on cutting edge (and fun) technology.  


  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Communications Marketing industry and the basic principles of integrated Communications Marketing

  • Understands key client information including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors

  • Provides client service administration including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media and competitor coverage, coordinating press tour pitching, scheduling and logistics

  • Researches, outlines, writes, edits and proofreads materials, including media advisories, pitch letters/emails, biographies, reports and fact sheets

  • Assists with research including analysis of media coverage and online conversations

  • Coordinates projects and events including inviting media, preparing press materials, attending events and preparing reports

  • Demonstrates a general knowledge of current social media tools

  • Builds a network of traditional and online media contacts and maintains media lists

  • Provides administrative support for team

  • Records and submits time, expenses and POs to the right project codes on a timely basis

  • Manages time well and understands account budget parameters and over-servicing

  • Contributes to performance appraisal process for peers and managers

  • Oversees interns on projects

  • Understands internal operations and inter-team cooperation

  • Commits to continuous learning and improvement of tactical skills by attending offered classes, on-the-job training and mentoring

  • 2-3 years’ experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including public relations, marketing or journalism

  • A general understanding of the gaming industry (whether personally or professionally) is beneficial but not required

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and written and oral communications skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of clients and team members across offices

  • Ability to adapt to new conditions, deadlines and assignments

  • Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

  • Strong work ethic, project management skills and the ability to provide quality work to clients and teams in a timely manner
